• A skateboard (we have rentals for $15 per skater)

• All participants are required to wear a helmet (bike helmets are not acceptable), elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards are strongly recommended

• Closed-toed shoes

• A signed waiver

* If you're buying skateboard gear for the first time we're happy to give advice so it doesn't seem so intimidating

We'll start by discussing any goals you want to work toward, then we'll do a quick assessment of your skill level on a skateboard. Once we have an understanding of your skill level, we'll help you get more comfortable at that level and then keep gradually progressing.

For new skateboarders, the session could include:

• Skatepark etiquette

• Proper stance

• Pushing, riding

• Stopping

• Turning

• All sales are final. No refunds

• Should you need to reschedule, you must do so 24 hours in advance

• Rescheduling requests less than 12 hours in advance will be considered a cancellation and are not eligible for a refund or session credit

• In the event of bad weather (subject to instructors discretion) we are happy to accommodate by rescheduling to a time convenient to you

If you're facing economic hardship and can't afford our lessons, please reach out about a reduced rate that will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

You will DEFINITELY get hurt at some point. That’s the nature of skateboarding. But that’s OK because we all do it. We'll show you how to bail tricks and how to fall with grace, but sadly those ideas are only learned through experience. While you're under our watch we'll do our best to minimalize danger and teach you the best techniques to keep you safe.

*If you are of a certain age and wish to take it slow, we'll of course tailor the lesson to minimalize the risk of falling.

We can have a session at most skateparks in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx convenient to public transportation. We can meet near you, or decide on a different location.
